Désolé c'est in english mais c'est assez facile à comprendre!
I am sure you already gave up on me since I haven't written an entry for a few months now! I admit I could have written but my mental condition didn't allow me!
A lot of things happened in the last few months so I really don't know where to start from. As you all know, I had some great results and got into the top 5! In Miami I played the tournament of my life and the 1/4 final against Nadal was the match of my life. The victory in Miami gave me a lot of self-confidence and motivation for the rest of the season because I proved that I have the quality and ability to beat the best players and win big tournaments. After Miami I had a surprise welcome in front of the parliament! There weren't many people but enough to make me feel happy and proud. I had a looooooooong press conference after the welcome. It seemed to last an eternity because I was very tired. After the final in Miami I just wanted to get into the first plane for Belgrade and celebrate with my family and my people. At that welcome I wasn't on the parliament balcony, but that wish came true after Paris with our two golden girls (Ana and Jelena)! I'll talk about that a bit later...
After the welcome, the celebration and everything else, I had to go back to my obligations and the tennis court. It was time for the Davis Cup which we played against Georgia in Kovilovo! The tie wasn't played in Belgrade, but the victory was everything we wanted. We have a chance after a long time to enter the World Group, and we will be able to fullfill that in front of our home crowd in the Belgrade Arena in September! I had a solid clay court season till the Roland Garros. I didn't have enough time to prepare for Monte Carlo, so I played a bit worse than it was expected. But I used the period after that to prepare for the upcoming tournaments and it paid off...
Roland Garros was my main goal for the clay season, like Wimbledon is for the grass season. Yesterday I lost to Clement in Queens' but I don't regret that too much because I need rest and good training for the 3rd Grand Slam this season. Although, the things you are most probably interested in are those that happen off the court! Tradiotionally I write about these things, but I can't go to far, cause some people wouldn't like that...
Befoere the welcome from Paris we were nervous and sceptic, if it will all work out, if the people will come, if this if that?! At the end it all came out as it should have, we were welcomed by 15000 people in front of the parliament and nothing can replace that feeling. We held the flag proudly, happy and pleased, but this is only the beginning... We will give our best to return there as soon as possible...
I have to say that the party went on even after the welcome! We don't get many opportunities to get out in Belgrade, so we had to use the only chance... It was super, music, smiles, champagne, a real GALA evening Hehehehe... No, it wasn't only the 3 of us, there was a lot of people, even our families were with us. This was a remark for those who think all kinds of things... Yeah, I remembered... I don't know if you know that I celbrated my 20th birthday in Belgrade! It was the best birthday in my life, but not because of the presents, but the fact that all people who mean something to me and who I love were there to celebrate it with me! I believe you had a chance to see a few clips from my birthday... Since I like to sing once in a while I used the chance because there was a band at the party! We sang Proud Mary, and then a remake of MOLITVA, which Mr. Sergej Trifunovic made up! It was unbelievable!
Marko Djokovic (my brother) won the Serbian championships U16! Mareee champioooooooon! With this he ensured himself participation on the European Championships. Ofcourse there is also younger, but always unpleasant Djordje Djokovic, which is getting as good as if not better than his brother! People beware, the train with the Djokovic family is arriving in very fast speed and it has no intention of stopping.
I see our U21 football team are doing well in Europe and I hope they will return with the title. I wish them all the best. Let's go reds!
That is it for now, best regards!
Peace and respect,
West side yo yo yo,
